Central Horticultural Experiment Station, Vejalpur (Godhra) came into existence on 29.03.1979. It started its functioning under the auspices of Indian Institute of Horticultural Research, Bengaluru towards promoting horticultural industries in tribal areas of western India encompassing Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Gujarat States. The Station is located 15 kms. from Godhra town on Godhra-Vadodara Highway. The initial progress of the Station was somewhat retarded due to non-availability of water facility but on the assurance of Government of Gujarat to provide irrigation water through a pipeline from Panam Canal, the Station actually started functioning in 1983. On 1st October, 2000, the Station was delinked with Indian Institute of Horticulture Research, Bengaluru and was merged with the newly upgraded Institute, Central Institute of Arid Horticulture, Bikaner.

Transfer of Technology | Transfer of scientific knowledge generated on the above aspects of tribal farmers of the region for effective horticultural development of the area and upliftment of farmers, |
